No matter how old you are, one of the best things about Christmas Day is undoubtedly getting a stocking.
For us, they’re little surprise treats – that we’ve not spent the previous two months hinting about like other presents – and are always a joy to open, whether that’s first thing in the morning, or after the Queen’s speech.
We’ve steered clear of classic tat gifts that wouldn’t last beyond the day (apart from edibles) and instead found genuinely useful products that we’d be more than pleased to receive ourselves.
To make this list, we looked to some of our all-time favourite products that we’ve come across this year that we return to time and time again.

Elizabeth Scarlett jungle leaf copper velvet pouch: £28, Elizabeth Scarlett

For the regular traveller, these gorgeous pouches are a god-send. We love them for packing all the little annoying bits in suitcases or hand luggage that inevitably get lost – cables and portable chargers anyone? – as well as keeping books, suncream and other poolside essentials together on holiday. Coming in more than 20 designs and colour combinations of embroidered patterns, they're all based on Elizabeth Scarlett's love of travel, from palm trees and turtles to pineapples and zebras. Our favourite is the monserat leaf in super soft copper velvet, and we love the details like the lotus leaf on the zip pull. Each can be monogrammed too for an extra £12. There’s also matching eye masks and cute coin purses available in matching patterns.

Turtle Coffee Wakey Wakey whole bean coffee: £8, Turtle Coffee

Good coffee is an essential, but forget going to a coffee shop everyday. This ethical coffee is some of the best we’ve ever tasted, so get up every day to Wakey Wakey. Made with beans from Duromina Farmers Cooperative in Jimma Zone, Ethiopia and roasted at Tate Coffee, it has gorgeous notes of apricot, jasmin and bergamot. It’s one of three coffees from the brand which also includes Jump Start for the afternoon slump and Lazy Sunday, which needs no explanation, and we’re so in love with the colour combinations. The whole bag is totally plastic free and compostable, including the sticker which is made from vegetable inks. Choose from either whole bean or ground for your caffeine kick.
